Tree of Heaven Tincture
Ailanthus Altissima
Description
Product description Tree of Heaven Tincture
Latin name: Ailanthus altissima. The Tree of Heaven, Tree of God, Chinese Ash, or Chumak is also called Stinker due to the unpleasant odor of the leaves and flowers. It is a fast-growing, strong tree that reaches a height of 25 to 30 meters.
When the maximum height of 25 m is reached, the tree has a width of approximately 15 m. The inflorescence of this Stinker is characterized by very large, compound leaves bearing large white panicles with yellow-green or pinkish-red fruits.
It originates in China and Korea and is slowly spreading across the Western world. The Tree of Heaven is known as an invasive tree species, and therefore attempts are being made in the Netherlands to ban the sale and keeping of the Tree of Heaven. This is unfortunate, because the Tree of Heaven grows where other trees do not want to grow, for example in extremely urbanized environments.
