Latin name: Dipsacus fullonumAlso known as Wild Teasel or Prickly Teasel. In English, the plant is often called Wild Teasel or Fuller's Teasel.

Teasel is a robust, biennial plant that stands out for its long stem with spiky leaves and its characteristic, egg-shaped flower heads with purple florets. It is a native plant in Europe and has been valued there for centuries in folk medicine.

Although teasel is less well-known in official herbal medicine, the plant has gained popularity in naturopathic circles in recent years, thanks in part to the work of herbalists like Wolf-Dieter Storl. This has led to growing interest in this unique European herb, even beyond its traditional medicinal uses.

Teasel is not only used in Europe. In Chinese medicine, the related species Dipsacus japonicuhas been used for centuries. There it is known as Xu Duan, which means 'fix what is broken'.

Dosage and use

Gebruik

1 theelepel gedroogde Kaardebolwortel per kop. Met water aan de kook brengen en dan 10 min op een heel laag pitje laten pruttelen. Na het uitzetten van de warmtebron nog minimaal 10 minuten laten trekken.

Goed gesloten, droog en koel/kamertemperatuur bewaren, buiten bereik van kinderen.
