Latin name: Artemisia AnnuaAlso known as Summer Wormwood, Sweet Wormwood, or Annual Mugwort. In English, the plant is also called Sweet Annie.

Artemisia Annua is a camphor-scented plant with bright green, fine, fern-like leaves and inconspicuous small green-yellow flowers.

It is a native plant in China, and there this powerful Traditional herb recommended for over 2,000 years. What is a hydrosol?

Hydrolates (or plant waters) contain a wealth of plant-derived compounds.

Essential oil and hydrosol are extracted from the plant using steam. During the distillation process, water vapor is produced containing all the soluble components of the plant. Once the water vapor has cooled and been collected, the distillation water consists of two parts. The largest part of the essential oil (fat-soluble) does not combine with the water and remains floating. The rest of the water is then the hydrosol (water portion). The essential oil is skimmed off. What remains is the hydrosol.

Hydrolates are particularly suitable for sensitive people who, for example, cannot tolerate alcohol, the elderly, pregnant women, and children.
